We are a family of four, two kids at 15 and 12 and two adults pushing the 5-0 mark. We love the outdoors and are always looking for ways to see more of it while wisely not getting in over our heads. Canyoneering seemed like a great way to do just that. But you need the right guide and location. Seldom Seen Adventures was a perfect match.
Nick the owner is that perfect mix of one who absolutely loves his job, is outstanding at it, tuned into his audience, greatly skilled at what he does, rightfully cautious and tuned into to the surroundings and weather, hires great co-guides, is truly fun and funny, cares about the environment and preserving it’s life… Truly, what he lacks doesn’t even register. He and his fellow guide Shirls were terrific at every turn.
Our 12-year-old was rightly nervous at the sight of the first 40 foot rappel. She had an earful of family ready to help her. But Shirls and Nick were tuned into her needs and mood in an instant. For that matter, they were tuned into each of us – my son wanting more adventure, my wife and I taking different approaches to the adventure, really their skill shown through and made our day an absolute joyful experience.
We did rappel drops into slots, free drops and slides down slot wedges, and even drops many times into water at the bottom ledges of drops – breathtaking. We felt the rush, felt the comfort of our amazing guides and their skills, laughed all day long and loved our adventure.
Seldom Seen is the only way to do this kind of adventure – and yes, you should do this kind of adventure!
